are cut down to make 2.5 billion shipping cartons.
- Pollution: Packaging from non-biodegradable items like plastic
contaminates soil and water as it reaches the land. Also, PVC or Polyvinyl
Chloride is the raw material used for manufacturing tapes for packing;
this material takes almost 100 years to decompose. This pollutes the whole
environment.
- Harmful: According to reports, more than 20 million tons of
single-use plastics are thrown into oceans; this waste is a significant
threat to marine life.
All these reasons sum up the fact that we are producing waste at an alarming rate, and opting for sustainable packaging is the only option and hope for healing the environment. These reasons are the signal to adapt to a sustainable lifestyle urgently.
