Global Printing Ink Specialist, Siegwerk, Expands Operations in India

 Siegwerk, a global leader in printing inks, coatings, and packaging materials, has commissioned a new solvent based blending center at Siegwerk's Bhiwadi facility, India. This new blending center, which covers 3400 Sq.M, adds to the existing 100% Toluene-free manufacturing plant and will help support industry-leading growth. Siegwerk's commitment towards sustainability is reflected in the new blending center, which includes a modern quality control laboratory, an efficient air handling unit, and a solar power generator.

The new state-of the-art facility will have a large blending capacity of more than 13,500 metric tons. Additionally, the warehouse's solvent-based capacity will increase from 150 MT to 700. Siegwerk Group invested INR 212.2 Million (INR 21.22 Cro) in the new blending facility. The facility was inaugurated by Dr. Nicolas Wiedmann (CEO Siegwerk Group), Mr. Ashish Pradhan (President Siegwerk Asia) and Mr. Ramakrishna Karanth (CEO Siegwerk India).

President of Siegwerk Asia, Mr. Ashish Pradhan stated, "Siegwerk has been a leader in the industry with its innovative production technology and groundbreaking innovations." In Asia, the packaging ink market has seen a more than 10% increase over the past two years. There has also been a significant rise in flexpack sales which has increased our confidence in expanding manufacturing capacity in India. We have created a lot customer-first offerings over the last year and we plan to continue this strong momentum in 2022. This Blending Center, which is fully powered by solar renewable energy, will be our first step towards achieving our goal of making a positive contribution to society. Siegwerk will continue to provide outstanding value for all stakeholders by ensuring customer satisfaction through high quality, delivery, and after-sales service.

Ms. Ramakrishna Karanth (CEO, Siegwerk India) spoke about the expansion. "Siegwerk has always been committed to providing safe printing solutions and inks to customers. With the introduction of the state-of-the-art blending center, our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is reflected in our current capacity expansion. Our blending capabilities are now able to meet the needs of Indian customers. Our mutual growth in India has been a result of decades of customer relations. We will be able to increase our efforts to introduce new products, capabilities, and innovation through the new centre.

Sustainability and Safety Measures:

The facility runs entirely on renewable power thanks to its roof-top solar panels, which have a capacity of 301kWp. An automated fire safety system is installed at the facility, which includes an automatic addressable fire and smoke detector system for fire detection as well as fire walls and foam sprinklers at dispensing stations. The plant also has a hydrant system that includes a water monitor and reels.
