New Ishida X-Ray Offers Enhanced Sensitivity for Difficult to Detect Items
Ishida Europe will launch its next generation IXG2 dual-energy Xray inspection system. This has improved the ability to detect bone fragments four times better than previous Xray models.
The machine's increased sensitivity also reduces the chance
of false detections. This helps maximize throughput and avoids unnecessary
waste. Ishida's self-learning Genetic Algorithm technology (GA), which is
combined with the new line sensor, enables the IX-G2-F to achieve maximum
detection sensitivity.
GA technology uses X-ray data analysis to analyze image data
over many trial runs to pinpoint difficult-to-detect contaminants. Data logging
is a useful tool to help build a more exact calibration protocol for each
trial, as it is not uncommon in food production for similar contamination
problems recur. This allows permanent and recurring defects to easily be
identified during inspection.
Dual energy technology by Ishida uses two line sensors. One
takes images at high energy, the other at low energy. The images are then
compared to create a more complete image with greater contrast between the
product's surface and low-density foreign objects such as bone fragments.
